The current Villa delle Rondini has distant origins in time. Its outer walls in stone (exceeding one metre of thickness in some points) show that the construction was made in the early seventeenth century.
 At the half of the nineteenth century, Mr. Nicolini Rocco, originally from the city of Chieti, bought a 20-hectare estate along the Val di Foro, with this big cottage in the middle which was, as was the tradition, divided among his 9 sons.
 During world war II, the villa was occupied by Germans, who estabilished their local headquarters in it; the family, already reduced for the call-up to arms, was evacuated to Chieti.
After tought battles and bombings - the front was a few kilometres away - the villa was freed by allies with the help of the owner's family, including his son Antonino.
All of this is testified by a document of the allies' headquarters, found during the renovation works.
During the postwar period, Mr. Antonino partly rebuilt the divisions made by his father, and handed them over to his son Vittorio.
Today ¬
Today Villa delle Rondini has been born again by the idea of Nicolini Vittorio's sons - Enzo and Antonino - partly for pride and personal bet, but also to advertise what the surrounding territory offers to anyone.
